Estimator / Project Manager

Great opportunity for a SAFETY CONSCIOUS individual(s) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience looking to grow with a 50-year-old fence company focused on not only customer satisfaction and quality craftsmanship but also employee engagement and retention. We service the Residential, Commercial and Industrial markets in eastern PA, MD, DE and NJ with a focus on all types of Fencing (Wood, PVC, Aluminum, Chain Link, Temporary, etc) Decks, Railings, Wooden Guide Rails, Dumpster Enclosures, Gate Operators, Access Control and much more! Must Have the Following:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ Sales experience
  • Reliable transportation to/from the office
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • US Citizenship or Working Visa
  • Ability to lift 80lbs
  • Ability to pass new hire and random drug test
  • Ability to work full time M – F, 7am – 5pm (flex schedule available) & occasional Saturday mornings

• Ability to read Blue Prints & to perform Fence Material Take-Offs • Good math skills
• Computer Skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills, multi-tasking skills • Positive attitude

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meet with decision makers to discuss project options and take measurements
  • Provide pricing/estimate based on Client’s specifications and review with Upper Management
  • Type up and submit detailed proposals to Clients via email
  • Respond to potential customer questions/concerns within 24 hours
  • Review Contract with client via phone conversation (after it has been awarded to Heritage Fence)
  • Order materials needed for each job
  • Daily communication with Operations to ensure smooth installation of projects
  • Participation in weekly hand-off meetings between Estimating and Operations
  • Help manage operating expenses by allocating materials for minimal waste, facilitating clean transitions from one job to the next
  • Acknowledgement of walk-in Customers and ability to write up and process Sales Orders
  • Become familiar with local zoning and code restrictions
  • Plan, implement and manage tasks in accordance with priorities and goals
  • Adhere to relevant safety regulations and requirements
  • Peacefully resolve any problems or issues that may arise
  • Prospect local GC’s/Clients to get on bid list
  • Foster relationships with current clients and potential new clients
  • Visit current job site to meet with GC’s Superintendents
  • Follow up on all outstanding bids with appropriate clients
  • IF Won or Lost, discuss deciding factors – were we apples to apples compared
  • Calculate job costing to determine if bid value is accurate
  • Become an expert on our different product lines and know in great detail the pros & cons of each system
